After the last event, mine was incredibly dusty, after that very dusty 2 days!
Motorcycle (or get it online) shops sell a PJ1 product that cleans, and another product that re-lubes, the air filter.
Dry it off thoroughly with a hair-dryer (or let sit over night) before re-lubing. Owning a spare air filter is the best idea. Keep it lubed, and in an air-tight zip-lock bag, ready to go!
I don't bother putting a coat of Vasaline between the air filter and the side of the air filter box where the air filter touches it, but some guys do.
